Cultivating A Best Place To Work

Nov 14, 2016

BY MASON THELEN – CEO & CO-FOUNDER
AND CHUCK DENSINGER – COO & CO-FOUNDER

Today, it was announced that Elicit was named one of Ad Age’s 2016 Best Places to Work (ranked #8 out of 50 companies on the list). When we formed Elicit nearly a decade ago, we set out to create a company that we would personally want to work for, “the anti-consultancy consultants.” While we knew we were onto something pretty special out of the gate, it’s an incredible honor to have external acknowledgement that our culture is a stand out in the marketplace.

The basics are important—such as a competitive pay, vacation, and benefits packages—but early on we recognized that those were just table stakes, and set the bar higher. Each decision—from a 100% virtual workplace to annual educational retreats for everyone in the company to the type of clients we sign and work we agree to do—has been deliberate and designed to attract, engage, and retain an unparalleled group of talent.

What’s probably not surprising is that over the past several years, we have watched the team take ownership of—and evolve—our culture. Mason has often been quoted as saying, “Elicit isn’t about me and Chuck anymore. It’s about the team.”

We’re lucky to have the best talent in our space. We test their stamina, increase their resilience, and enable them to flex their muscles on some of the most challenging business problems our incredible array of clients can throw at us. We’d be remiss not to thank those clients for inviting us into their heaviest dilemmas, and our team for showing up everyday to pour their expertise and passion into the work and unique solutions.

We couldn’t be more proud of what we have accomplished together, and as always, to see what’s next. Thank you to our entire Team for making Elicit the best place to work!
